Me Gustave BARBEY was born on September 8, 1911. He joined the law firm in 1936 after having obtained a law degree from the University of Geneva. After numerous years as an associate, including the Second World War, Me Gustave BARBEY became a partner of the firm in 1952.

Me Gustave BARBEY was the ideal interlocutor through his seriousness, subtlety and consciousness not only for a large number of private clients but also for companies and institutions wishing to settle in Switzerland.

It is without doubt due to him that several American multinationals are based in Geneva today. In the 1950's and 1960's, he actively assisted many of these groups in the financial sector and commodity trading in establishing a presence in Switzerland. Although Me Gustave BARBEY was quite active in advising companies and private clients, he did not refrain from occasionally pleading in the courts cases of principle that he cherished.

Me Gustave BARBEY was also consul of Norway for nearly 25 years, a military judge and chairman of the Baur Foundation for several years.
