Samantha Meregalli Do Duc was born in 1975 in Monza (Milan), Italy. She is a graduate of the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan Law School (lic. iur., 2001) and spent two semesters at the University of Regensburg's Law School (Germany). She holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Business Law (MAS/LL.M, 2004) "with highest honours" and a PhD (Doctorate) in banking and financial law (her thesis is on conflicts of interests and collective investment schemes) both from the University of Geneva Law School.

Samantha Meregalli Do Duc worked in the legal department of the private bank Lombard Odier, in Geneva in 2003-2004. After her experience as teaching and research assistant within the Center for Banking and Financial law of the University of Geneva from 2004 to 2009, she joined the law firm Borel & Barbey in Geneva as Of Counsel in 2010. She regularly publishes in the field of banking and financial law.
