Nicolas Candaux was born in 1980 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a graduate of the University of Lausanne Law School (li.iur. 2005) and spent two semesters at the University of Zurich's Law School. He holds a Master of Advanced Studies (LL.M) in Business Law (2007, with highest honours) from the University of Geneva Law School. Nicolas Candaux worked at Ernst & Young, Legal Department (Corporate/M&A), in Zurich from 2006 to 2007.

After completing his legal traineeship with the law firm Python & Peter in Geneva (2008-2009), Nicolas Candaux passed the Geneva Bar exam and joined Borel & Barbey as an associate in 2010.
